Eckhart Tolle - Enlightened Love Relationships

A MUST SEE

Excerpts from the book "THE POWER OF NOW"
By Eckhart Tolle

"The power of Now" is considered by many to be one of the most important books ever written regarding personal development.

Synopsis about the book: To make the journey into the Now we will need to leave our analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. From the very first page of this extraordinary book, we move rapidly into a significantly higher altitude where we breathe a lighter air. We become connected to the indestructible essence of our Being, "The eternal, ever present One Life beyond the myriad forms of life that are subject to birth and death." Although the journey is challenging, Eckhart Tolle uses simple language and an easy question and answer format to guide us.

FOOD INC - You will never look at food the same way

An important documentary presenting about how food is produce and its consequences for people, animals and nature.

Hungry for Change

In Food, Inc., filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that has been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA. Our nation's food supply is now controlled by a handful of corporations that often put profit ahead of consumer health, the livelihood of the American farmer, the safety of workers and our own environment. We have bigger-breasted chickens, the perfect pork chop, herbicide-resistant soybean seeds, even tomatoes that won't go bad, but we also have new strains of E. coli—the harmful bacteria that causes illness for an estimated 73,000 Americans annually. We are riddled with widespread obesity, particularly among children, and an epidemic level of diabetes among adults.

Featuring interviews with such experts as Eric Schlosser (Fast Food Nation), Michael Pollan (The Omnivore's Dilemma, In Defense of Food: An Eater's Manifesto) along with forward thinking social entrepreneurs like Stonyfield's Gary Hirshberg and Polyface Farms' Joel Salatin, Food, Inc. reveals surprising—and often shocking truths—about what we eat, how it's produced, who we have become as a nation and where we are going from here.

Invisible Children - A touching documentary

In the spring of 2003, three young Americans traveled to Africa in search of such as story. What they found was a tragedy that disgusted and inspired them. A story where children are weapons and children are the victims.

The "Invisible Children: rough cut" film exposes the effects of a 20 year-long war on the children of Northern Uganda. These children live in fear of abduction by rebel soldiers, and are being forced to fight as a part of violent army. This wonderfully reckless documentary is fast paced, with an MTV beat, and is something truly unique. To see Africa through young eyes is humorous and heart breaking, quick and informative - all in the very same breath. See this film, you will be forever changed.

- Philip Ochoa Board Member, ALL FOR ANIMALS

"As long as men massacre animals, they will be killing each other. Indeed, he who sows the seed of death and pain can not reap joy and love."

Transition Towns - Changing social and environmental paradigms

Transition Towns - A worldwide project

More informations:
http://www.transitionnetwork.org
http://www.transitionnetwork.org/support/publications

Documentary: ‘In Transition’ is the first detailed film about the Transition movement filmed by those that know it best, those who are making it happen on the ground. The Transition movement is about communities around the world responding to peak oil and climate change with creativity, imagination and humour, and setting about rebuilding their local economies and communities. It is positive, solutions focused, viral and fun.

In the film you'll see stories of communities creating their own local currencies, setting up their own pubs, planting trees, growing food, celebrating localness, caring, sharing. You’ll see neighbours sharing their land with neighbours that have none, local authorities getting behind their local Transition initiatives, schoolchildren making news in 2030, and you'll get a sense of the scale of this emerging movement. It is a story of hope, and it is a call to action, and we think you will like it very much. It is also quite funny in places.

Words that change the world.

"Be the change you wish to see in the world"
"Let my message be my life"
Mahatma Gandhi

"Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think. Suffering follows an evil thought as the wheels of a cart follow the oxen that draws it. Our life is shaped by our mind; we become what we think. Joy follows a pure thought like a shadow that never leaves."
The Buddha

"Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in."
Leonard Cohen

"Often a man's life is such
that he seldom sees his friends,
like the constellations Shen and Shang
which never share the same sky.
If not this evening, then what evening
should we share this lamp light?"
Du Fu

"Make the universe your companion,
always bearing in mind
the true nature of things -
mountains and rivers,
trees and grasses,
and humanity.
Enjoy the falling blossoms
and the scattering leaves."
Basho, Learn from the Pine

"Since it is all too clear
It takes time to grasp it.
When you understand
that it's foolish to look for fire with fire,
The meal is already cooked."
Wu-men

"We experience ourselves, our thoughts and feelings as something separate from the rest. A kind of optical delusion of consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest to us."
Albert Einstein

"We cannot see our reflection in running water. It is only in still water that we can see."
Taoist Proverb

"The fundamental delusion of humanity is to suppose that I am here and you are out there."
Yasutani Roshi

"In spring, hundreds of flowers; in autumn, a harvest moon; in summer, a refreshing breeze; in winter, snow will accompany you. If useless things do not hang in your mind, any season is a good season for you."
Mumon

"I have discovered that all of mans unhappiness derives from only one source, not being able to sit quietly in a room."
Blaise Pascal

"When we accept tough jobs as a challenge to our ability and wade into them with joy and enthusiasm, miracles can happen."
Arland Gilbert

"Calm in quietude is not real calm; when you can be calm in the midst of activity, this is the true state of nature. Happiness in comfort is not real happiness; when you can be happy in the midst of hardship, then you see the true potential of the mind."
Huanchu Daoren

"Sitting quietly, doing nothing, spring comes, and the grass grows by itself."
Zen Proverb

"Many of our fears are tissue paper thin, and a single courageous step would carry us clear through them."
Brendan Francis (1923-1964)

"Be soft in your practice. Think of the method as a fine silvery stream, not a raging waterfall. Follow the stream, have faith in its course. It will go its own way, meandering here, trickling there. It will find the grooves, the cracks, the crevices. Just follow it. Never let it out of your sight. It will take you."
Sheng-yen

"I have always been delighted at the prospect of a new day, a fresh try, one more start, with perhaps a bit of magic waiting somewhere behind the morning."

Henry David Thoreau

"Live each season as it passes; breathe the air, drink the drink, taste the fruit, and resign yourself to the influences of each."
Henry David Thoreau

"The work an unknown good man has done is like a vein of water flowing hidden underground, secretly making the ground green."
Thomas Carlyle (1795-1881)

Mary Tyler Moore

"And the end of all our exploring will be to arrive where we started and know the place for the first time."
T.S. Eliot

"Character may be manifested in the great moments, but it is made in the small ones."
Phillips Brooks (1835-1893)
